Instructions

Preheat the oven to 140 /Gas mark 1. Put the oats, seed and nuts in a bowl. Gently heat the honey and oil in a pan, then add to the oat mixture and mix well. Spread on to a baking tray and cook in the oven for about an hour or until golden, stirring occasionally. Cool then transfer to a plastic container mixing in the dried fruit. Serve with skimmed milk.

Oats are a great source of fibre and low GI. The nuts provide zinc which can help boost your immune system.

 

Ingredients
  • 250g oats
  • 50g each chopped brazil nuts, chopped hazelnuts,flaked almonds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds
  • 100g chopped dates, raisins, apricots or cranberries(or mixture)
  • 5 tbs honey
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100ml sunflower oil
